We have been receiving a lot of calls for ticks and mosquitoes in Worcester and surrounding towns. Reports of ticks being found on family pets and on children have gotten the attention of concerned parents.
The University of Rhode Island Tick Encounter Resource Center performs a crowdsourced tick survey across America. Their tick encounter index is high across the Eastern states. Deer ticks, which are known to carry and transmit Lyme disease, are the most prevalent types of ticks biting in the Worcester, MA, and Grafton, MA areas, according to the resource center.
“A mild winter, coupled with a warmer and wetter spring, may lead to larger-than-normal tick populations,” Dr. Jim Fredericks, chief entomologist for the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), said.
Bug Bully offers complete yearly tick treatment programs that are very effective at reducing tick and mosquito populations.
Yearly tick treatments also include general pest control services such as mice prevention, early termite detection monitoring, carpenter ant prevention, and spiders.
Most yards can be treated yearly for $595 with six (6) treatments and general pest services included.
